WOLKENDERRY

2005 16.2hh Black Hanoverian AES Licensed

3rd - Shearwater Young Dressage Horse Championships – Hartpury 2009 Champion Potential Sport Horse – SHB (GB) 2009

An extraordinary elegance radiates from this stunning black son of Wolkentanz. This athletic stallion of modern type shows excellent movement with an exceptional hind leg. He has very good rideability with a temperament that is second to none. He has successfully combined his competition débuts with stud duties and his first crop of foals are eagerly awaited. Whilst primarily destined to be a top dressage horse (a world renowned FEI judge commented that ‘he has Grand Prix stamped on his forehead’), this outstanding young stallion is super talented and has made a spectacular start to his competition career – being placed 3rd in the finals of the Shearwater 4 yr old Young Dressage Horse Championships. He was also won the 4 yr old Potential Sport Horse class at Sport Horse Breeding (GB) and then went on to stand Champion and has won Combined Training at Prelim level. He is displaying a superb scopey jump with the technique of a true jumper, crossing fences with height and style and is extremely careful – jumping double clears at BN and Discovery. He has cross country schooled proving bold over all types of fences, including ditches and water.

2010 will see him make his Eventing début.

Wolkenderry’s sire, Wolkentanz (probably the best producing son of the legendary sire Weltmeyer) was crowned Bundeschampion of 3 yr old stallions in 1994 and also champion of the Hanoverian Licensing. He has produced many offspring including the World Champion Young Dressage horse Wakajama and Dutch stallion San Remo (Pavo Cup finalist) ridden by Edward Gal, in addition to numerous very successful state premium mares. The breeding of the dam, Letizia, to Wolkentanz has also produced a full brother, Wolkenderry II who is currently in the Netherlands.

The dam sire, Londonderry, is an incredibly beautiful son of Lauries Crusador xx , known in Germany for producing excellent dressage horses of wonderful type and outstanding dispositions. Londonderry was champion of the 1997 Hanoverian Stallion Licensing and in 1999 he was crowned Bundeschampion of 4yr old stallions. In 2006 his sons Locksley II and Londontime excelled - Londontime set a new record for the highest sales price at the Verden Elite auction, selling for 510,000 Euro.

Wolkenderry’s dam, Letizia, is out of Cyrenaika – a State Premium mare by the outstanding Holstein stallion Capitol II who descends from one of the best dam lines in Holstein. Capitol II unites in his pedigree two strong performance breeding lines: On his mother's side the breeding line stems from Breeding Line 173, the original mare being Rappel. Among her offspring you will find many successful international and national show jumpers. Capitol's father Capitano was the only one who was chosen to carry on the heritage of the Stallion Cottage Son XX to this present day. These lines are responsible for producing such stallions as Capitol I, Calato, Campesino, Carolus I and II, Cathago Z, Cassini, Colino, Cento and Indoctro.

Wolkenderry will be available by AI (Stallion AI Services) to a limited number of mares in 2010. Stud Fee for 2010 Fresh/Chilled:- £500 (plus collection charge and postage) (£450 if booked and deposit paid by 1st March 2010) Terms:- NFFR Oct 1st
