On Saturday evening was the official retirement of the outstanding black Trakehner stallion "Gribaldi".  This stallion has had an amazing career, both as an International Grand Prix dressage horse and a breeding sire. This fantastic stallion is by the Elite Trahehner stallion Kostolany out of an Ibikus mare and has already been awarded "Elite" by the Trakehner Verband.

A fireworks display heralded the stallion's entrance in the ring, where he showed off his movement under saddle. As his breeder, Marika Werner, and owners, Joop and Anne van Uytert, looked on, Edward Gal gave his final performance in the show ring on the black stallion who was declared preferent that evening. Then, Hans Peter Minderhoud entered the ring on Gribaldi's son Painted Black and demonstrated the stallion's incredible movement and a textbook-perfect piaffe.

The climax of the evening was a performance by the KWPN-recognized stallion Moorlands Totilas, who thrilled spectators with his out-of-this-world movement characterized by unbelievable elevation, power, and suppleness. With emotions almost palpable, spectators cheered wildly and gave Totilas and Edward a standing ovation - a fitting conclusion to another unforgettable dressage evening at the KWPN Stallion Show.

The second day of the KWPN stallion show brought further showjumping colts to the fore, with Indoctro and Ukato having the most selected for performance testing with three each, followed by Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve with two.

From 24 stallions forward a further 22 were put through to the performance test, totally 40 stallions overall from the showjumping selections forward. Those selected from day two were:

For the next few days all eyes will be focused on the Brabanthalle in Den Bosch for the annual KWPN Stallion Show. Today saw the start of the showjumping stallions from some of the best stallion lines we can find in the world.
