Breeder and owner of the stallion to win of the Holstein stallion licensing 2009 is Jens Ritter, Krumstedt.
Cassilano by Cassini I-Lavaletto-Corofino I was the terrific stallion of this year's stallion licensing age group. Under standing ovations the bay with his powerful movements, who was in addition one of the best show jumpers, trotted many times in hand with his jubilant exhibitor around the arena of the Holstenhalle in Neumünster which was completely sold out. He was the first stallion to win from the successful breeding of family Ritters in Krumstedt. And the Holstein breeders can consider themselves to be lucky. The stallion will be at their disposal at the Holsteiner Verband.
The first runner-up of this year's stallion licensing was promoted to be the most expensive approved stallion at the auction : Catch It by Casall-Locato-Calypso I, bred by Traute Blöcker-Bajorat, Bargstedt, and owned by the Hessischen Hausstiftung Panker. Auctioneer Uwe Heckmann auctioneered the bay at a price of € 450,000.00 to the Danish stud farm Blue Hors.
The second runner-up, Quick Fire by Quintero-Contender-Cor de la Bryère, bred by Morten Augustinus, DK-Bogense, and owned by Detlef & Remer Hennings, Bendorf, Dieter Mehrens, Struvenhütten and Wolfgang Brinkmann, Herford, was not offered for sale. Further premium stallions were Contano by Coriano-Heraldik xx-Lagos (breeder Michael Jäger, Herbolzheim, owner Sportpferde MK, Jettingen-Scheppach) and Levland by Levantos-Corrado I-Lombard (breeder and owner Hans Bastian, Tüttendorf). In the future Levland will be at the Holsteiner Verband besides Catoo by Con Air-Caletto I-Corporal (breeder Adelbert Sport, Jardelundfeld, exhibitor Thomas Petersen & Jörg Carstensen, Sollwill), who was sold at auction at a price of € 45,000.00, and besides Lenett by Loran-Lord Calando-Fernando (breeder Alexander Jahr, Hodorf).
The 15 stallions that were sold at auction had an average price of € 99,600.00. Also the national stallion depots which attended the stallion licensing in Neumünster were active. The head lad Dr. Matthias Görbert bought for the Landgestüt Moritzburg the Nekton-Lovari-Calato-son Nektovari , bred by Detlef Bendixen, Brebel/Süderbrarup, and owned by Martje Clausen, Jahrsdorf, at a price of € 65,000.00.
The Cassini II-Riverman-Liostro-son Chinari , bred and owned by Cora Ackermann-Ripke, Steinfeld, was sold at a price of € 80,000.00 to American clients. The dark bay who has a lot of jumping ability will probably have his box for the next two years as a leasehold stallion at the Haupt- und Landgestüt Marbach. "We saw a lot of athletic stallions. This year especially the top stallions impressed the committee of the stallion licensing", commented Dr. Thomas Nissen, the leader of the breeding division, after the stallion licensing.
According to the first president, Mr. Jan Lüneburg, the committee of the stallion licensing this year has knowlingly made a deliberate strict selection. From the 78 presented stallions 21 stallions left the Holstenhalle with a positive stallion licensing result.
