He has just begun competing in eventing with Jeanette Brakewell and had a run at the end of the 2009 season at Aston-le-Walls completing with a dressage of 24.5 (75.5%) and a double clear to finish 3rd. He will combining stud duties and competition work in 2010.

Future Illusion's pedigree is packed with outstanding bloodlines. His sire is the Elite graded Trakehner Fleetwater Opposition who has sired European, World and Olympic medallists in Eventing. His best known progeny include Summersong, Opposition Buzz, Swang Ryan, Elite Opposition and Opposition Heracles. Fleetwater Opposition himself boasts Olympic dressage and showjumping horses in his close pedigree.

Future Illusion's dam, Future Illicit Affair descends from a bloodline that includes such greats as Criminal Law, Demonstrator, Skippy (sire of Jumbo) and Spiritus (sire of Master Spiritus). She was unable to compete herself due to a paddock injury to her pelvis as a weanling, however she still went on to be awarded the top grading status with SHB(GB) (Head Stud Book), and was Champion Sporthorse Broodmare at the National Hunter Show in 2005 and Champion Hunter Broodmare at Suffolk County Show in 2007, amongst other wins.

Future Illusion's siblings are all younger than him, but have ALL been very successful in the Show ring, including his full sister Future Illicit Opposition, who replicated Future Illusion's win in the Lightweight Hunter Foal class at the National Hunter Show in 2009, and very nearly did the double, being Res. Champion Foal in the Championship. His half brother Future Illicit Heights won at Suffolk County Show in 2007 and his full brother Future Indulgence has already completed several 4 Year Old BE Breeding competitions, always being in the placings (and 2nd twice).
